I would love to share my story related to my painting just selected for the online exhibit, Seasons: Summer 2025.
The painting is of a childhood memory. My family would always vacation at the Jersey Shore, specifically a beach named Ortley Beach, where my Aunt Angie owned a bungalow. The amusement pier in the scene is how it looked when I was a child, of which was prior to Super Storm Sandy. Unfortunately, the storm destroyed a portion of the pier that extended out into the ocean.
There's a famous photo of the Jet Ski roller coaster at the extreme left of the painting laying in the ocean after it collapsed due to the destructive waves. It will never be seen the same again, and I knew I had to make sure I captured that memory before it was lost forever. It hangs brilliantly in our own shore house at the Jersey Shore.
